Monderma Imperial Series gravity filtration system
Monderma Imperial series — Fountains and filters of the new gravity-fed range, 2026 launch.
Estimated availability late October 2026. For pre-orders, check the availability information displayed on the product page before ordering.
Discover the gravity-fed fountains and Imperial AMB and GF replacement filters. Made in the USA, the filter elements combine a microporous ceramic shell impregnated with colloidal silver with internal media based on activated carbon and zeolite. Depending on the version, water passes through a compressed activated carbon block or comes into contact with a mixture of granular activated carbon and zeolite. The systems are intended for cold, potable tap water.

Why choose Imperial filters?
- 🇺🇸 American manufacturing of filter elements.
- 🔵 Approx. 10 mm thick ceramic shell on AMB and GF versions.
- 💧 Operates solely by gravity — no electricity, no pump, and no plumbing connection required.
- 🧪 Manufacturer's test report citing NSF 42 and 53 standards, available for consultation.
- 🛡️ Exterior ceramic placed upstream of internal media.
- ✨ Two constructions to choose from: block activated carbon or granular, combined with zeolite.
- 🔄 Cleanable ceramic surface according to the instructions.
- 📅 Monderma replacement benchmark: maximum 12 months after placing a pair into service, subject to the conditions of use detailed below.
Two technologies, two filter constructions
🔵 Imperial AMB — Ceramic and carbon block, two successive stages
The Imperial AMB combines a microporous ceramic shell (approx. 10 mm thick), impregnated with colloidal silver, with a core of compressed activated carbon with an announced thickness of 20 mm, combined with zeolite.
This architecture combines two filtering structures in a single element: water first passes through the ceramic shell, then through the internal activated carbon block. The ceramic serves as the outer stage, accessible for cleaning surface deposits, while the activated carbon serves as the internal adsorption media.
Format of each element: 7 inches high × 2.75 inches in diameter. The unique feature of the AMB is the combination of a ceramic shell and a carbon core in block form, rather than granules.
- Outer ceramic: 10 mm approx. thickness.
- Compressed activated carbon block: 20 mm announced thickness.
- Two structures traversed successively by the water.
- Zeolite combined with the internal media.
- Ceramic surface cleanable according to the instructions.
- Access to the manufacturer's tests and documents, including their scope.
🟢 Imperial GF — Ceramic, granular carbon, and zeolite
The Imperial GF combines a microporous ceramic shell (approx. 10 mm thick), impregnated with colloidal silver, with an internal mixture of granular activated carbon and natural zeolite.
Water passes through the ceramic and then comes into contact with the internal media. Unlike the AMB, the activated carbon here is used in granular form, not as a compressed block. The GF thus offers a different ceramic and activated carbon construction within the Monderma range.
Format of each element: 7 inches high × 2.75 inches in diameter, for installation in a compatible gravity-fed fountain.
- Microporous ceramic: 10 mm approx. thickness.
- Granular activated carbon combined with natural zeolite.
- Water flow through the ceramic, then the internal media.
- Gravity-fed operation for daily home use.
- Ceramic surface cleanable according to the instructions.
- Access to the manufacturer's tests and documents, including their scope.
The thicknesses and dimensions above are indicative characteristics provided by Monderma. They are separate from laboratory test results and are not presented as NSF-certified measurements.
Imperial AMB or Imperial GF: which filter to choose?
| Criterion | Imperial AMB | Imperial GF |
|---|---|---|
| Internal technology | Compressed activated carbon block + zeolite | Granular activated carbon + natural zeolite |
| Ceramic thickness | Approx. 10 mm | Approx. 10 mm |
| Activated carbon construction | Compressed block, announced 20 mm thickness | Granular media, no compressed block |
| Water path | Ceramic then activated carbon block | Ceramic then granular mixture |
| Format per element | 7 inches high × 2.75 inches in diameter | |
| Usage | Cold, potable tap water, in a gravity-fed, non-pressurized fountain | |
| Maintenance | Cleanable ceramic; replace elements according to instructions | |
| Monderma replacement benchmark | Maximum 12 months after placing a pair into service, or earlier depending on conditions of use | |
| Tests and documents | Manufacturer's dossier: Envirotek report citing NSF 42 and 53, and NSF/ANSI 42 document. Dates and scope on the dedicated page. | |
The choice between AMB and GF depends on the construction of the internal media. Actual flow rate depends on water level, configuration, setup, and filter condition. A greater thickness or slower flow is not, by itself, sufficient to demonstrate better reduction of all contaminants.
A set suited to your daily life
Choose a Travel 5.6 L or Big 8.5 L fountain, a standard or sight-glass spigot, and a base stand according to the proposed configuration. The tanks are made of AISI 304 stainless steel. The sight-glass spigot allows you to monitor the water level in the lower tank; the base makes it easier to fit a glass under the spigot. The items and accessories included are specified on each product page.
Designed for Monderma gravity systems
When used with Monderma Water Filters stainless steel tanks, Imperial filters operate without electricity, without plumbing connection, without a pump, and without mains pressure. Fill the upper tank with cold, potable water: the water passes through the filters by gravity and collects in the lower tank.
This operation does not produce a continuous stream of wastewater. Setup and cleaning, however, do require water. Check the available space in the lower tank before each refill to prevent overflow.
Compatibility and replacement filters
AMB and GF elements are intended for Monderma Water Filters fountains and certain gravity-fed models from Berkey®, British Berkefeld®, ProOne®, and other suitable systems. Before ordering, verify the available height, element diameter, mounting, and spacing between filters. The 2.75-inch diameter alone is not sufficient to guarantee compatibility with an entire brand. Mounting compatibility does not constitute a certification of the system so equipped.

Gravity filtration with cleanable ceramic
American-made, cleanable ceramic, and replaceable elements: the Imperial range fits into the daily use of a home fountain. Follow the instructions for setup, filter cleaning, and regular tank maintenance.
The Monderma replacement benchmark is a maximum of 12 months after placing a pair into service, with earlier replacement required when the instructions or conditions of use demand it. This is a maintenance benchmark, not a certified reduction duration for each individual contaminant. Surface cleaning does not replace element replacement.
On a system using two elements, the pack of four allows you to have one pair and then a replacement pair. It does not extend the service life of the pair already installed. Store unused elements according to the instructions.
The number of disposable bottles saved depends on your consumption and the effective replacement of bottled water with filtered water.
New range — 2026 launch: this date refers to the commercial introduction under the Monderma brand, not the date of technology development or the completion of testing.
Usage advice
Use filters only with cold, potable tap water in a gravity-fed, non-pressurized system. They are not presented as a means to make well, spring, or microbiologically unknown water potable. Do not use hot water and follow authority guidelines in the event of water alerts.
